 Celebrated theatre actor, director and writer, Jit Murad, died today.

Legendary Malaysian actor Jit Murad has passed away at the age of 62. He won the hearts of the Malaysian audience as a famous theatre actor. He is also known as a director and a successful writer.

The famous theatre actor reportedly passed away at his home in Kuala Lumpur. The death news of the legend was published at 5.20 pm on social media. People from different walks of life have mourned the death of Jit Murad.

Jit Murad — whose real name was Aziz Mirzan Murad — began his career in the Malaysian performing arts scene in the late 1980s.

Jit Murad’s famous stories include Gravy on Rice, Golden Rain, and Hail, Visit, Sandwich, etc.

He also co-founded the Instant Cafe Theatre alongside fellow playwrights Jo Kukathas, Andrew Leci and Zahim Albakri.

His filmography as an actor included “Selubung” (1992), “Mimpi Moon” (2000), “Talentime” (2009) and “1957: Hati Malaya” (2007).

At press time, no details are available, but his fellow theatre family, friends and fellow Malaysians have taken to social media to express their sadness at his passing.

According to a report by The Star, his death was confirmed by the fellow veteran of the stage, Jo Kukathas, who said that he passed away at his home in Kuala Lumpur. He was 62.

Jit Murad’s real name was Aziz Mirzan Murad. He began his career in the 1980s. Murad’s was born in Kuala Lumpur and earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He also is a Southeast renowned.
